What data is provided by the Historical Data service?

The Betfair Historical Data service provides detailed historical market data for the Betfair Exchange, including market, price and settlement information. The data is provided from April 2015. Data prior to this date in this format isn’t available. For other historical data sources prior to April 2015, please refer to https://apps.betfair.com/data

Using this data, you can:

• Access historical Betfair Exchange price & market data.
• View details of historical market settlements.
• Custom filter data prior to download.
• Backtest your strategy before going ‘live’.
• Experiment with new sport/market types.

A simple web-based JSON to CSV conversion tool is available via Betfair Historical Data Processor.  This tool accepts BASIC/ADVANCED/PRO files that have previously been purchased & downloaded.

For Non-Developers

For non-developers looking to backtest strategies, we recommend that you use licensed software that already incorporates the ADVANCED historical data such as Time Machine for MarketFeederPro and Market Replay for Betting Assistant
