This error indicates that our business rules do not allow the order to be placed.
Possible reasons for this error:
- Attempting to place the order using a delayed application key with an application created prior to 2018. Please contact Developer Support to remove this override.
- Your IP address has been identified as being in a restricted jurisdiction (for example, Germany, France, USA etc.).
- An Australian customer attempting to place bet in-play - which isn't permitted (see further info via https://www.betfair.com.au/hub/education/in-play-betting/)
How can I check if the issue is related to my Geo IP location?
You can use https://www.maxmind.com/en/geoip-demo to identify the specific location to which your IP address has been assigned by your service provider.
If you believe your IP is incorrectly identified as being based in a restricted location you will need to submit a correction request to Maxmind via https://www.maxmind.com/en/correction. One confirmed by Maxmind, any corrections will be applied when we upload the latest GeoIP files to our servers, which happens on a daily basis.
Unfortunately, we cannot apply manual whitelisting and need to wait for Maxmind to apply the change, as they are the source of truth for all of our GeoIP info.
